Trade compliance advisory and software
Compliance is the highest-leverage problem in your US market entry.
Getting customs wrong is a six-to-seven-figure mistake. Getting freight five percent wrong is a rounding error. Tarsis is where foreign manufacturers get compliance right — before the broker files anything.
It usually shows up first as a misclassified HS code.
The market
The mid-market foreign manufacturer sits in a gap.
Customs software targets either consumer ecommerce or Fortune 1000. Big 4 trade practices serve their largest accounts. The Korean tier-2 supplier or German Mittelstand subsidiary — fifty to five hundred SKUs, fifty to five hundred million dollars in annual revenue, importing into the US — pieces together a broker, a forwarder, and internal spreadsheets, and accepts the compliance risk as a cost of doing business.
That gap is what Tarsis is built for.
The leverage
Compliance errors are six-to-seven figures. Freight isn’t.
A misclassified HS code accrues underpaid duties across the four-year statute of limitations. A missed FTA qualification loses tariff advantages the manufacturer was entitled to. A weak country-of-origin substantiation invites Section 301 or IEEPA exposure that dwarfs any freight rate optimization.
Fifteen years of freight operations tell us where the money actually is — and it isn’t in shaving five percent off an ocean rate.
Tarsis works upstream of the freight decision, and upstream of the broker filing.
The model
Advisory first. Software follows.
Tarsis leads with the US Import Readiness Audit — a three-to-four-week engagement that produces a written deliverable on classification, valuation, FTA qualification, and tariff exposure. Ongoing program management runs on per-entry economics with a curated network of licensed broker partners. The Tarsis platform, currently in design, will support the advisory work, not replace it.
Tarsis is not a customs broker. Filings are performed by licensed broker partners we vet and manage as a program. You are the client of record; Tarsis is the program manager.
Services
Four ways Tarsis is engaged.
US Import Readiness Audit
Three-to-four-week engagement. Written deliverable your broker can use — classification review, valuation methodology, FTA qualification, tariff exposure. Starting at $19,500 for under 100 SKUs and under $25M annual import value. Larger engagements custom-quoted.
Per-entry program management
Ongoing oversight of Tarsis-matched broker partners with monthly compliance review. $25 standard, $55 complex, $100 specialty per entry, billed on actual volume.
Ad-hoc advisory
HS classification audits, FTA qualification reviews, tariff exposure assessments, training. Rates anchored to the audit price band and quoted per project.
The Tarsis platform
Classification decision support, landed-cost calculator, tariff scenario modeler, reasonable-care audit trail. In design. Scope firms with the first cohort of advisory clients.
Preview, not live. Scope firms with the first cohort of advisory clients.
How engagement starts
Two paths.
A structured Import Readiness Audit is where most paid engagements begin. Tarsis-Haven — Tarsis’s AI assistant, available in English, Korean, and German — answers general trade compliance questions before a sales conversation. Both routes are calibrated to the same thing: whether Tarsis is the right fit for what you’re trying to do.
Response time: one business day.
